Lonmay Old Manse is situated just off the B9033 Coastal Trail North between the villages of St Combs and Crimond.
With its rural setting the Old Manse is best reached by car and there is ample parking within the grounds. For cyclists there is secure inside storage.
Aberdeen Airport [Dyce] is approximately 45 minutes drive away. There are direct flights from Aberdeen to many destinations in the UK and Europe and car hire is available at the airport.
The nearest rail station is Aberdeen and bus and coach services operate from the rail station to Fraserburgh and Peterhead.

Directions From Aberdeen:
Leaving Aberdeen take the A90 North for Fraserburgh. At the Toll of Birness the road forks, A90 Peterhead, A952 Fraseburgh. Follow the Fraserburgh road. Travel on through Mintlaw and after about 12 miles the two roads meet again at a forked junction signed CORTES. Turn right signed Peterhead A90 by the Lake View Garden Centre and Cairness House [brown tourist sign], but DO NOT go down the Peterhead road. Cross straight over the A90 where it is signed Cairnbulg/Inverallochy, Lonmay Church and Public Hall. Follow this country road for approximately 3 miles, do not turn off, past junction with white cottage on one side and large bungalow with smart hedge and green fence on the other. Drive round sharp bend and carry straight on until you come into avenue of beech trees. Pink church, St Columba's on your right hand side opposite smart black wrought iron gates with sphinxes on pillars being the entrance to Cairness House. Small sign on your right for left hand turn to Lonmay Manse on verge by St Columba's. Turn left up narrow lane with high stone wall on your left and beech hedge on your right. Past present day kirk and car park, round corner and the Old Manse's black gates will be on your right. Do not be tempted to turn off the A952 prior to Cortes Junction when you will see 2 small signs to Lonmay. We do not live in the village and following Lonmay sign will only get you lost!
Directions From Fraserburgh:
From the centre of Fraserburgh leave heading for A90 via Saltoun Place and Maconochie Road down to the roundabout where you will see aTesco supermarket on your left hand side. Turn left for St Combs B9033 Coastal route. After 200 yards at next roundabout following St Combs sign, turn right. Travel out of town past the Fraserburgh Golf Course up the hill past the cemetery and when you arrive at cross roads marked left to Cairnbulg and Inverallochy, right to Cortes, turn right for Cortes onto small road. Drive straight for about three miles until you come to T-Junction after a couple of sharp bends. Turn left for Lonmay School, round bend and straight on until you come into an avenue of trees. Pink church, St Columba's on your right hand side opposite black wrought iron gates with sphinxes on pillars being entrance to Cairness House. Small sign on verge by St Columba's says Lonmay Manse, turn left up narrow lane with high stonewall on your left and beech hedge on your right. Pass present day kirk and car park, round corner and the Old Manse's black gates will be the on your right.
Directions From Peterhead:
Follow signs for Fraserburgh A90. We are approximately 12 miles from Peterhead, drive through St Fergus and on past St Fergus's Gas Terminal and on through village of Crimond. About 2 miles after Crimond, turn right on to the B9033 marked Coastal Trail North, Cairness House and St Combs. Drive further 2 miles until you see a small sign to Cortes/Lonmay Church and Village Hall and Cairness House. Turn left, drive past old school, cottage and old school house on your right and village hall on your left . About 250 yards to corner where you will see pink church called St Columba's with small sign on verge, turn right on bend for Lonmay Manse. Opposite you will see entrance gates to Cairness House with sphinxes on pillars either side. Turn right up narrow lane with high stonewall on your left and beech hedge on your right. Pass present day kirk and car park, round corner and the Old Manse's black gates will be on your right hand side.
Directions From Inverness:
Approaching Fraserburgh on the A98 turn off before the town at cross road marked B9032 for Memsie. Stay on B9032 through Memsie and down to the A90 Fraserburgh/Peterhead/Aberdeen road. At the T-Junction turn right onto A90 for Aberdeen, travel approximately 2 miles and when road forks just before Lake View Garden Centre at Cortes follow A90 for Peterhead, NOT Aberdeen road. Travel 50 yards and narrow left hand turn to Cairnbulg/Inverallochy, Lonmay Church and Village Hall. Follow this road for 3 miles, past Cairnbulg junction with white cottage on one side and bungalow with smart green boundary fence and hedge on the other. Drive round sharp bend and straight on until you come under an avenue of trees. Pink church, St Columba's on your right hand side opposite smart gates with sphinxes being entrance to Cairness House. Small sign opposite says Lonmay Manse turn left up narrow lane with stonewall on your left and beech hedge on your right. Pass present day kirk and car park, round corner and the Old Manse's black gates will on your right.
