Accommodation in Aberdeenshire
There are three spacious and comfortable bedrooms at the Old Manse. Each room is named after a local place and all rooms are beautifully appointed with fine furnishings, wallpapers and woollen carpets.
There is a colour television, radio alarm clock and thermostatically controlled radiator in every room. On the landing there is a 'service area' with microwave and fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.
All bathrooms have a range of toilet accessories, with bath robes and fluffy towels.
Rattray is a Double bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite shower room with a large shower, toilet and wash basin.
This room has views across to the Loch of Strathbeg and beyond - as far as the sand dunes near Rattray Head lighthouse, which can be seen blinking in the distance after dusk.
Cairness is a superior room and can be reserved either as a twin, or with a super king size double bed.
In-between the bedroom and bathroom there is an area with a dressing table and large hanging wardrobe with cupboards.
The en-suite bathroom for Cairness is equally spacious with bath, separate large shower, toilet and wash basin.
The rooms are warm, light and airy, furnished with either antique or fine furniture and with extensive, uninterrupted views of varied scenery.
Strathbeg is a spacious and airy double bedded room with an elegant Edwardian mahogany bedroom suite.
The bedroom has two windows, both with garden views and one across to the Loch of Strathbeg. There is also a large en-suite bathroom with bath, toilet and wash basin.
Guests can also relax in the elegant, comfortable reception rooms. The drawing room has a large, south facing, bay window and a superb marble fireplace with an open fire during winter months. An eclectic selection of reading material and music is also available for guests.
The dining room has mahogany furniture and there are always fresh flowers on the tables. During cold weather the wood-burning stove and candlelit tables create an intimate setting in which to enjoy dinner - (see details on evening meals page).
The whole atmosphere of the manse is one of seclusion, privacy, space and comfort.
